Meet Tarna the Jackalope

This following large scale art project was created by an ambitious and creative group of Toronto based artists, makers, designers & fabricators. The Toronto art car community is growing, and with a mythical creature the size of Tarna, it is growing at epic proportions.

A Jackalope is a mythical creature who is the cross between an antelope and a jack rabbit.

Tarna is an interactive art car, fire experience, sound stage and dance floor. She was an 18 seater wheel-trans accessible bus, now she has been stripped down to her chassis, and fabricated into a jack rabbit with flamed horns.

She travelled to art festivals & local burns such as: Hyperborea, Lakes of Fire, and made the trek to Nevada for Burning Man.
Inside Tarna’s belly is a comfy interior lounge area, equipped with seating, and a chandelier. Her interior was designed by a team of fashion designers & specialists, in a style that reflects Howl’s bedroom, in Howl’s Moving Castle.

This is such an amazing team of hardworking artists, designers, fabric designers, engineers, makers & geniuses.

Tarna’s continued success comes from community support, volunteer efforts & brilliant organization and communication.
